Loon Mountain Ski Patrol Ambassadors
http://www.loonpatrol.org
The Loon Mountain Ski Patrol Ambassador program consists of volunteers dedicated
to skier/rider safety and education. They are easily identified by their distinctive
yellow and black parkas.
Ambassadors assist guests at the offload ramps of designated lifts, keep traffic moving safely in the designated areas of high congestion, at trail merges, at the ends of some trails, around the bases of the lifts and in the base areas. Ambassadors are responsible for providing skier education both on and around the slopes and in the classroom.
Ambassadors are dedicated to creating a positive, helpful experience for every guest. As the Ambassadors patrol the slopes and trails of Loon Mountain, they assist the Loon Mountain Ski Patrol in an effort to provide a safe, caring, and friendly atmosphere.

The Loon Mountain Ski Patrol is a dedicated group of professional men and women
who strive to provide a safe, fun environment for the guests. The patrollers
work to keep the trails as safe as possible, provide first-class rescue and
emergency care services, monitor on-hill skier and rider traffic, and offer
various guest education. The patrollers also seek to promote safe recreation
practices in the mountain environment and work with area staff to control hazards,
maintain trails, and provide any necessary service to the Loon Mountain guests
to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
Loon's patrollers are active, professional members of the National Ski Patrol, and all hold current certifications in outdoor emergency care and CPR. Patrollers undergo an average of 200 hours of training before they are qualified to be “first-responders” for emergency calls. During the regular ski season, individual and team training takes place on a nearly continuous basis.

The Neely House

Cancer affects an entire family, not just the patient. Meeting families'
overwhelming needs for accommodations, understanding, support and hope
along with providing
the opportunity for them to share time and experiences together embody
the essence of The Cam Neely Foundation for Cancer Care.
The Neely family launched the Cam Neely Foundation for Cancer Care in 1995 after the passing of their parents Marlene and Michael Neely from cancer. This experience created the inspiration to help others living with cancer. As millions of Americans will be diagnosed this year with some form of cancer, an understandable sense of urgency propels the Foundation's mission.
The donations that participants solicit from friends, family, co-workers
and businesses will benefit The Cam Neely Foundation for Cancer Care which
runs
The Neely House at Tufts-New England Medical Center and The Neely Cancer Fund.
The Neely House is a bed and breakfast style "home away from home" for
cancer patients and their families. It was created to fill an important need
- to help pediatric and adult cancer patients and their families while undergoing
treatment.
